My path to counseling began long before I entered the profession. After graduating from high school, I served in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division, an experience that taught me the value of resilience, discipline, and the importance of having people you can depend on during life's most difficult moments.
Today, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and EMDR-trained therapist. Through my work at Mountainview Mentoring, I have had the privilege of helping adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigate challenges ranging from anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties to life transitions, behavioral concerns, and personal growth. My approach is practical, compassionate, and focused on helping people build meaningful change rather than simply managing symptoms.
As a husband of more than 20 years and the father of two adult children, I understand firsthand the joys and challenges that come with marriage, parenting, and family life. These experiences have shaped my belief that strong relationships, personal responsibility, and genuine connection are essential to emotional well-being.
I have a particular passion for working with teens, men, and families. Whether helping a teenager find confidence, supporting a man through life's pressures and responsibilities, or strengthening family relationships, I strive to create an environment where people feel understood, respected, and empowered to move forward.
When I'm not in the counseling office, you'll likely find me in the woods, working in the garden, or enjoying the simple satisfaction of getting my hands dirty. I believe many of life's greatest lessons are learned through hard work, connection, and time spent in the natural world—principles that often find their way into my counseling approach as well.
No matter where you are in your journey, my goal is to provide a safe and practical space where healing, growth, and lasting change can take place.
